Spotted Gum is the most popular of the more exotic timbers used as flooring here in Australia and for good reason too. Quite simply, it's an awsome timber.
It has the right mixture of dark and light grain to ensure that it goes with pretty much any sort of decor, it looks sensational done in either gloss or satin, it's one of the hardest timbers available and is a pleasure to sand.
Many of the Spotted Gum floors I've sanded and polished have been large areas, making it quite possibly the largest feature in a lot of houses, so for that reason it's imperative that it gets sanded spot-on from the word go. The photo's on the right show off some of the Spotted Gum floors I've worked on, and as you can see, they would certainly ruin a great home if they were sanded and finished poorly. Luckily, for my customers I'm getting it right.
